Guild member Paul Laverty's new film Even The Rain was on the Oscar long-list as Spain's submission for Best Foreign Film, and has been nomintaed for 13 Spanish Academy Awards. This is an interview he did with Real TV Films. No word yet on a UK release for the film.

The latest Off the Shelf at Black's event - a collaboration between the Writers' Guild and Fiction Uncovered. Novelist Chioma Okereke will read from her work and discuss her writing.
The event runs from 11am-4pm at Black's Club in London for a maximum of 23 attendees, who will have a chance to read some of their own work after lunch. Cost is £25,including 2-course lunch.
Open to all, including non-members of the Guild.

25 June - On comic writing
